Distinguished lutenist and guitarist Richard Savino explores the work of Santiago de Murcia, the 17th century Spanish composer for guitar whose work was heavily influenced by his travels, especially to Mexico and Italy. Murcia's music reflects an interest in a range of cultures in fact, including French and African influences. This wide ranging cultural fluency makes for a rich and varied panorama of the baroque repertoire for guitar and Savino plays it all with great style and dexterity.
